Hello and thank you so much for visiting our blog. In The Kitchen With Em and Lou is a food/lifestyle blog written by mother and daughter team Louise and Emily Hird who are both passionate about finding and creating good hearty and healthy plant based food that the whole family can enjoy.
We both became more interested in health and food in 2014 when Emily got very ill with non epileptic attack disorder (as well as already having epilepsy since the age of six). Ever since then we have started to look at food as a method of healing for our minds and bodies and have felt much better in the process. We have been vegetarians for a long time, Louise for over 20 years and Emily since birth (the rest of the family are vegetarians too.) But we slowly made our way round towards veganism after realising that we just felt so much better when not eating animal products, not only physically, but because we finally had a clear conscience knowing that what we were eating hadn’t caused pain to any living creature.
