A great and much healthier alternative to shop bought hot chocolate drinks, this salted caramel hot chocolate is the perfect decadent drink for those cold wintery evenings and is so lovely and thick, creamy, and comforting. It requires only a few ingredients and is so easy to make! If you don’t have any cacao powder or coconut sugar, you can just use some normal cocoa powder and/or another reasonably healthy sweetener such as maple syrup, brown rice syrup, date syrup, etc. 🙂 We also topped ours with a sprinkling of cacao nibs (similar to chocolate chips) but it isn’t necessary. If you wanted to, you can also make a basic hot chocolate recipe by leaving out the medjool dates and almond butter- don’t worry, you don’t need to blend it if you do!
We hope you enjoy and if you try it out, feel free to let us know as we’d love to know what you think. (We’ve made it really easy, so if you’ve come here through Facebook you can comment that way instead of having to have a wordpress account :)).
